4. Verbs – from past to present

Here are some sentences in the past tense. Write the verbs in the PRESENT TENSE in the open spaces.

Remember that if the subject («the doer») is he, she or it, the verb ends in -s in the present tense.

NB: Sometimes you must ask yourself if the subject could be replaced by he/she/it, or by they.

Example: Tom = he, Tom and Jill = they, our little dog = it

 

Our cat caught and ate a mouse almost every day.

Our cat and a mouse almost every day.

 

She lived and worked in New York, where she owned a restaurant.

She lives and in New York, where she a restaurant.

 

Samantha and her husband lived and worked in Lisbon, where they ran a restaurant.

Samantha and her husband and in Lisbon, where they a restaurant.
